💬 [45⬆] For anyone wondering why green steel projects like this are such a massive deal, the scale of the problem is wild. Steel production is responsible for roughly 7% to 9% of all global greenhouse gases, and about 11% of global CO₂ (around 3.6 billion to
💬 [40⬆] I really hope this plant will be a succes, it will set the precedent for the rest of the world to invest in the same technology. I especially hope Tata is watching.

💬 [45⬆] Hi James, these are the questions we all want to know: Why are you doing this AMA; what’s your motivation / driving force for you to do this. Please be honest. How much is your annual TC?
💬 [40⬆] Coding agents: How much are coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools actually being used by research/applied science teams at AWS? Have you seen a noticeable impact on code quality, development speed, or the amount of engineering work

💬 [50⬆] I think tags + vector embeddings should work. If you want you can add a vlm to verify if the image is correct but it will increase the latency by a lot.
💬 [45⬆] You'll have to have some fairly intelligent cropping ri the photo part for embeddings to focus on the product rather than overall scene. And benchmark a lot of embedding models. I find that most are trash for product similarity. White shoes embed
💬 [40⬆] I'm working in a project kinda like this, if you dont have the tags or descriptions of the photos you will need to analyze them first with an LLM and then create a the vectors for them (of course embeddings too) and work on the search engine

最后说几句
每天翻一遍 Reddit,你会发现一个很有意思的现象:
在新闻标题里,AI 是”颠覆”、”革命”、”划时代”;
